Lemon Head!

Alright... by now you all know that I'm a Lemon Head! Every year I complete (or attempt to complete) The Master Cleanse also known as the Lemonade Diet. So when Pam over at TheBugBytes invited me to be a guest on her blog to feature a project from one of the new Cricut Cartridges... OF COURSE the lemon-themed images on the Just Because Cards cartridge JUMPED out at me (JBC is the featured cartridge of the month)!!!
Now, for the record, I haven't officially completed 40 days yet. The longest I've survived The Master Cleanse was 25 days. I'm hoping that by completing this scrapbook page, I'll be inspired to finish the cleanse with ACTUAL before and after pics. Pray for me people... hahahahahhahaha! I completed this whole project on my Gypsy. You can get the free cut file HERE.
I shared a couple of tips over at TheBugBytes, that I wanted to share with all my readers here. First, for all of you who may not know what a cleanse is, here is a GREAT link... suffice it to say that it's SOOOO good for you to cleanse (in my opinion). Second, the background on the glass of lemonade was originally white, but because the polka dots are also white, it didn't work. So instead of cutting a whole new background, I simply colored the white in with a black marker. And finally, my Gypsy tip.

EVERY project I design on my Cricut Gypsy is done by placing ALL the components for the design on my virtual mat GROUPED TOGETHER. I then size everything BEFORE ungrouping so that all my pieces stay proportionate to one another and I don't have to go back in and resize any of the pieces individually... they all just fit. This saves A TON of time!!! Example is the lemon from the Just Because Cards cartridge (layer 1 + layer 2 + layer 3). Ungrouping is where I usually get into trouble. So I typically don't "ungroup" anything until right before I'm ready to cut. The pieces and layers of an image will fit one another perfectly if sized together. You Gypsy owners will see what I mean when you upload the Gyspy cut file and see the 5 layers of virtual mats attached to the file.
Welp, that's all for today. I'd like to send out a special thanx to my Cricut friend Pam for letting me guest post on her blog... as always Pam, it's loads of fun! Be sure to send a little love to Pam over at TheBugBytes. Have a great one gang... I hope you all have fun with this one. You can find all of my Gypsy cut files in the top of the right margin of my blog marked "New Gypsy Cut Files"; this cut file is called "Lemon Head".

Gorgous Leaves Bundle Revisited

Yestday's Freebie Friday on a Monday projects were so fun and this set is SO BEAUTIFUL in it's simplicity!  It reminds me of a long-retired stamp set from Stampin Up!.  I was inspired to re-create the projects that I made with it once upon a time.  So here we go.... SIMPLE projects when you need a quick "hello" or an even quicker heartfelt sympathy card: I was DEFINITELY on a Bumblebee and Cajun Craze kick yesterday!  I can't stop/won't stop!  LOL!  To be fair... I had extra leaves die cut and didn't want anything to go to waste!  A quick speckle backdrop in Bumblebee then a quick "hello" greeting from the Biggest Wish in Cajun Craze with the Cajun Craze leaf popped up on a Basic White cardbase.  PERFECTION! Okay, as with yesterday's projects, the sentiment is from the recently retired SAB Delicate Dahlia's set, but you could use ANY sympathy sentiment you have in your stash.  Unlike in the past when I had to mask off the center rectangle...

Quick Tip and Treat!

So I was on my group message board at P eertrainer.com and someone made a recommendation that I thought was wonderful! So wonderful in fact that I spent the afternoon balancing my checkbook to see if I can afford it!!!! Apparently the Magic Bullet is quite the go-to gadget for trainers and athletes! Why? Isn't that just another piece of garbage that they are trying to push on those infomercials??? Well, that's what I thought, but I've gotta say that more than one person in the discussion said that this piece of garbage is invaluable in keeping them on track with their nutrition. Here's what I heard today about the Magic Bullet: It's got a really powerful motor It really is quick and easy to use (the infomercial didn't lie) The handy single servings make it quick and easy to whip up a power shake for a quick "treat"! If you drink more than one a day, you can make many different types of shakes without continually dirtying up an entire unit! NICE! A co...

BRAGGERS!!!

Ok, so today's post is just a little venting for the day.... WHY are all my friends at the Winter CHA and I'm sitter here typing up this babble on my blog??? WHY am I not blogging FROM CHA??? And finally, WHY are all my friends sending little facebook messages from CHA seemingly guilt free. My friends are braggers..... HUGE BRAGGERS!!! Shame on all of you. If I was at CHA, I surely wouldn't be bragging about it. I wouldn't post pics of all the cool people I'm meeting and all the awesome new products that I'm playing with. And I certainly wouldn't be trying to score a pic with Tim Holtz like we're both old friends just meeting up at CHA. I wouldn't think that scoring that pic is like Tim and I are new BFF's.... I wouldn't!!! I would attend with the proper decorum befitting a CIVILIZED crafter and I DEFINITELY would wouldn't be shouting about it to all my friends who had to stay home. Shame, SHAME, SHAME !!!
