To Hire or Not To Hire

This is a repost from my myspace blog from last year regarding MY thoughts on whether someone should hire a personal trainer to get in shape or not. Since that blog post, I had the incredible pleasure of meeting Heather of SmashFit.com... she founded this national service that actually matches you up with your perfect local fitness trainer based on YOUR needs. I call Heather the fitness cupid! I hope you enjoy this post and I will be sure to include a link at the end so that you can check out SmashFit.com too! :) Ok, so I was asked some time ago (by a certain someone...you know who you are) who was wanting to tone up and get in shape, if she should hire a personal trainer; I thought I would take a minute and share my response. Based on her needs (wanting to tone up and get in shape), my answer is YES! But why spend the money? Think of all the things in this life we invest in. We invest in cars, homes, other people. I don't understand why people think it crazy to invest in yourself...

OOOO I Love A Good Project!

Could you imagine living a life that is garbage free???? Wow! There are people doing it! In a previous blog post , I talked about the pretty small changes I'm making to make my world a better place, but then I read about these people who are REALLY making a difference and it truly blows me away. I mean to the point that I too want to make a difference too. Well, there is yet another couple who is working to rid their lives of garbage for one whole year. I would think that after a year of learning how to live garbage-free, that it would just become a way off life. And maybe that's what they're hoping for. That's what I'm hoping FOR them! :) They just started their Green Garbage Project last month (in July) and will be sharing weekly how the efforts are going. What perfect timing! They expect to have tips and tricks to share, so it will certainly be worth tuning in. I'm hoping that they talk about the ENTIRE process: the good, the bad... and the ugly! I really wa...

Bon Vivant

Returning from the Bon Vivant Celebration that took place at Rawhide this year is a little bitter sweet. Bitter because I had to leave in the first place, but sweet because I have a really great topic to blog about. First of all, being that attendees pay about $100 - $150 to attend the event, it's important to note that the proceeds benefit a VERY WORTHY cause... The Boys And Girl's Club! But, for the money that is spent, the food and spirits are amazing and worth every penny! I ate some of the most delectable food and sipped the smoothest drinks from wine to prickly pear vodka. I have spent far more than $100 on a meal that had far less to offer and was far less satisfying, but amazingly, since I volunteered at this event last night... it cost me nothing! Upon receiving my special entry badge at the door, I received a plate that had a special insert to hold the wine glass I was also given. Those were mine to use throughout the evening and to even take home! Very nice! The fir...
