Retired Stampin Up For An Envelope Gift Card

It's sad really that I have to wait until a stamp set is retired to really start to play with it, but here I am with a birthday gift card holder I made using Stampin Up's Postage Collection.  I believe this was a hostess set, but please don't quote me.  The background is Stampin Up's Dictionary background stamp.  I used burlap for the banners and a brown baker's twine from Teresa Collins World Traveler line (yes, it too is retired) for this really fun gift card holder.... you heard that right, this is not a card but a gift card holder!!!  Its finished measurements are 4 3/8" x 4 1/4" and it was made using a standard A2 envelope!   Inside I used Stampin Up's Memorable Moments to create the Happy Birthday greeting.  I also used Tim Holtz distress inks to create the worn paper background with a couple of circle punches to notch out a spot for the gift card.  And the area stamped again with the Dictionary and Postage Collection sta...

Gettin It Together

Check out what THIS girl got for Valentine's Day!!!  The hubs wanted a coffee maker but I wanted work space!!!  It's no secret, ESPECIALLY HERE that I'm workin to get my craft space in the new house put together.  It is also no secret that the "secret" to my style of organization is to utilize vertical space, so when my friend Cindy showed me a picture of these AWESOME Stamp n' Storage ink pad organizers I was preparing myself to beg and beg HARD.  You see I already had storage for my Stampin Up ink pads.... Don't get me wrong.... this rotating color caddy from Stampin Up is a VERY good option, but my craft room reduced by half when we moved into the new house and I just don't have the work space I once did.  Anything and everything that can be put on the wall saves me precious work space.     And I didn't want my Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads in a different spot than the rest of my ink pads (that too is an orga...

If Tim Holtz Was A Girl...

I'm convinced this little sweetheart is a good representation of the first blueprint image that would have graced his blueprint line if Mr. Holtz was born a girl.  Why?  Cuz Girls Rule!!!!  And a little girl drafted of sugar, spice and everything nice is just cute, fun and incredibly ADORABLE!!! Obviously this image was inspired by the Tim Holtz blueprint stamp line, but actually features CC Designs' Cupcake Kiki that I stamped on black cardstock using my Stampin Up Craft pad and then altered using an opaque white gel pen.  Please ignore the shadow in the bottom right corner... I couldn't seem to get my big head out of the way.... I had a ton of fun making this one and am feeling pretty great about the crafty life force that has found its way back into my bloodstream.  I'm vowing NEVER to pack up my craft space EVER.... EVER again!!!  I definitely have a new-found appreciation for my perfectly placed chaos that is near impossible to rep...

State of Alteration

I promise!!!   Today I want to share probably one of the COOLEST alteration projects I've ever done, but first I want to share where I've been and what I've been up to because it plays a HUGE role in this project I'm sharing coming to fruition!!!  In a nutshell, we are buying a new home. Welp... after months of working to sell the home we were in, moving into an apartment (that is screaming to get us on an episode of Hoarders), we are finally getting ready to call the newly built house our home.  Yes, I will have TONS of pics to share as soon as we close and get settled... God-willing we'll be leaving this apartment in three weeks!!!  All the female decorator cells I have in my ...
