Dear City of Chandler Officials, I watched your council meeting last night on the cable access channel and I have some things I want to say as one of your residents regarding the contract impass that you failed to rectify for the City of Chandler law enforcement personnel and what that says to me. I want to believe that I am safe. I want to believe that I live in a city that IS ahead of the rest. But I'm convinced that I don't and honestly believe that I should move out of this city as soon as I can. I drive down Arizona Avenue on, pretty much, a daily basis and see MILLIONS of my tax dollars "working" (see the NEW city offices being constructed above) while hearing last night that the city cannot afford to pay the city's emergency service personnel. I watched as the council berated a speaker for pointing out the selfishness and greed that is being shown in the improper use of funds during a struggling economy while you officials saw RAISES! This 4th of July has been seriously tainted for me... like it was exposed to E-coli! I have an unbelievable discouragement for our government, the American people and the state of our union that is just exacerbated by news reports that financially strapped states are proposing to require sales tax on items purchased online. This report aired minutes after a news report of local cities looking to cut MORE emergency services because our "local governments can't afford" to pay salaries. But yet, I drive down my own city's main street to see multi-million dollar government buildings being erected.** I'M SICK OF IT!!! Why is no one talking about the REAL issue with our economy today???? Our governments are not being held accountable for their spending!!! Money is being wasted at a time when there IS NONE! And instead of our governments perfecting the fine art of budgeting (which REQUIRES that spending habits must change as financial flow changes), they continue their s...

This American believes: No matter what side of ANY issue "the people" are on, it is NEVER alright for a representative "of the people" to shirk their fiduciary responsibilities. If discovered (even worse if openly admitted) that our representatives are not even reading bills that are presented to them, they ABSOLUTELY should be tried for HIGH treason. What is it going to take.... There is no greater #FAIL than what has become of America right now. What WE have allowed to transpire over the years, our lack of personal responsibility and integrity and the laziness that has been cultivated in this country makes my heart cry. I am truly worried for America. Who we are right now.... are we really worth ANYONE dying for? All those who sacrificed to make America great, was it all in vain? Can we REALLY look at ourselves as one nation... under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice FOR ALL??? I think we are SOON to find out.

After watching Food Inc. in HORROR of the fact that large food companies are getting themselves appointed to the VERY regulatory government seats that are supposed to regulate their safety practices, it occurs to me how important it is to stay informed America! That means removing the rose colored glasses and realizing that your government DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH! Realize that your health is ONLY your responsibility... NO ONE is going to care for you but you. So a good place to start is to simply read labels. Make sure that the food you are buying is organic. If you are buying food labelled "natural" or "all natural", chances are you are buying chemically tainted food. I just watched the GREATEST movie that I have seen this year. It was entertaining, informative and honestly had me glued to my seat. I did leave the theater with a question in the back of my mind as to whether Ms. Oprah Winfrey has seen it though because clips of her super famous "beef" case made a cameo. I hope she has seen it, in fact I hope that she screams to world what a 'must see' this movie really is. It is not unknown that recommendations from Ms. Winfrey is like money in the bank. However, this particular movie is so much more important than that and if ANYTHING deserves Ms. Winfrey's recommendation... it is THIS movie. I am still in shock and I honestly think that I might go see it again. I TRULY hope I see you all there. This is probably one of the most important movies Americans can see right now. It will make you realize that healthcare reform really isn't as big an issue for Americans as Americans think.... we really should be focusing our energy...

I can't help but wonder about this health care reform issue. There are so many issues to consider, but for me the first and foremost is the fact that EVERYTHING the government has promised the American people (when going against America's wishes) has not worked. A LOT of promises were made that have not come to fruition (fraudulent in my opinion). At this point anything regarding health care reform, coming from the government, can it be believed? Can we expect just more empty promises with self servicing agendas attached? I keep hearing over and over that the American public isn't listening, but in reality, it's that the government can't be trusted. Like any other relationship like that, it is toxic and needs to be purged. Now beyond my personal belief that the government NEEDS to be overturned, I have a stronger belief that it is up to ALL of us to STOP being dependent on our government or insurance companies to take care of us. I am a lover of Stephen Colbert and the Colbert Report, but unfortunately not today!!! After listening to Elizabeth Warren talk about financial regulations that affected Stewart (on The Daily Show ) enough to tout that her spiel was financial chicken soup, I watched the Stephen Colbert Show where he then proceeded to "define" what the very "regulations" will probably look like. This is what we could and should expect from our government; The Word Of The Day: Have Your Cake And Eat It Too . Don't get me wrong... the show was brilliant and I so agree with the views Stephen "doesn't" support, but it reminded me that the current condition of our government will not provide real resolution for the current circumstances and that I really should just buckle myself in for the economy to get far worse. This economy is HURTING so many people. You are hearing it on the news and even in my day to day, talking to people who are getting downsized and jobs being cut. It is unbelievable to think about the "chain reaction" of things. Gas prices effects food prices. Loss of housing effects the spending that ultimately effects businesses that effects future jobs....the list goes on and on. I spoke to someone yesterday who is in the medical field. People are not spending money on health care because they can't even afford to keep their houses....my heart is broken. Why, oh why, did our government choose to "bail out" all those banks when the people who put the money IN the banks need the "bailing out". Our government chose (ignoring "the people's" voice) to bail out the minority when the minority is dependent on the majority to spend the money they now have even less of because we are funding the bail out of the minority.
