Do I Really Need Reminding... Apparently So!

OK gang! I have not run away or fallen off the earth, I've been taking a little break. I've been out in the forest getting in touch with my inner nature girl. And BOY have I been roughing it! I already broke a nail, and there is not a lick of cuticle cream in sight! All kidding aside, this particular trip out of the heat reminds me how important hydration really is! In the cooler climates we sometimes forget to drink our water. This is probably the single most important nail growth tip that I have learned over the past 8 months.... dehydration=broken nails. It's as simple as that!...

I have also noticed that my breathing has been shallow, and for how long, I don't know. I do know that it's been a while. But now I'm out in the forest, it's been raining the past couple of days, and the earthy smell is HEAVEN! I am really breathing it in.... and I'm noticing that I've been missing those deep breaths. The strong, invigorating breaths that only come from moments of calm and peace. I remembered today that I've been a little lax on taking that "down" time. Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of the day to day we forget how important it is to stop and find your peace. Maybe some of us don't EVER do that. Yah, I'm remembering today how desperately my body, my health and my life need that. So, that is what I will be working on next week. I'm "purposing" some time for myself to relax, hydrate, find my peace and take a few deep breaths. I hate it when I forget to breath. The hardest part will be remembering to do it AWAY from this beautiful and natural surrounding.... I just don't see how aromatherapy could get any better than this... those wonderful cool pines of the forest!

Maple Syrup vs. Honey

I did a post a while back about the nutritious sweetener for the lemonade on the Master Cleanse: maple syrup ! In fact, for quite some time now it has been my only sweetner (well, that and agave nectar... YUM!). But why maple syrup... isn't honey the magical sweetener? First, let's consider where both come from. One comes from a tree and the other comes from flowers, but is predigested and then regurgitated by a bee. Can you guess which is which??? hahahaha ! Really though, just the idea that an insect's already digested nectar from a flower lends to the idea that the nectar is already devoid of nutrients when it's vomited back up. Isn't that the whole point of digestion? To pull the nutrients from whatever it is you have ingested. So is it safe to say that honey is a bi product ? Or even a waste material? I would certainly call MY vomit a waste material... what about you? But beyond the gross visual I now have in my head of honey, I also have a real concern about ...

My New Adventure

I FINALLY got them!!!!!  My new Spectrum Noir markers arrived yesterday!!!  I'm super excited to be using these new alcohol ink markers and I'm even more excited for the privilege to play along with Spectrum Noir's design team!!! When I got the news that I had been accepted to the design team, I did a touch-down dance (seriously, I was like full-on in an end zone)... you can imagine how badly I wanted my hot little hands on these new toys.  And at around half the price of other alcohol ink markers, I knew that this new habit was not going to break my bank.  AND LOOK WHAT I DID WITH THEM. The images are from The Greeting Farm Sweet & Toxic set and the angel sentiment is from Tickled Pink Stamps.  The colors that I used for the adorable little girl were: Hair - EB8, TN8, TN5 and CR2 Skin- FS1, FS4, FS9 and PP4 Dress - DR7, DR5, DR1, CR6 and IG1 The colors I used for the boy: Hair - EB6, TN5, TN2 Skin - IG's Jeans - TB4, TB2, BGR4 Shirt - ??? Curse You 21 Jumpstreet and Heed My Warnings

Ok, so I rented it and I loved it!!!  I hate that I loved it!  And I hate myself even more that I'm running out to buy it!  But watching this HILARIOUS movie remake reminds me of all the broken dreams and unanswered questions I was left with as a teenage girl while I manipulated and maneuvered my black and white TV antennae unavailingly to give me a clear picture of the hit Fox TV show. Back in 1987, Fox was a new station and did not come through very clearly on that trusty black and white and most nights it was as if my beloved Penhall was communicating to me from the other side through all that white noise.  Yes, I was in love with Officer Doug James Penhall and that teenage ritual would literally foreshadow the pain and heartbreak I would endure watching the end of 21 Jump Street the movie... and I'm STILL compelled to buy it.  If you haven't seen the movie yet, this post might come as a shock and should definitely be considered a spoiler for anyone readin...
