God Can Be Found In The Most Peculiar Places

A couple of days ago Jon Stewart of The Daily Show aired his beliefs and opinions surrounding Rush Limbaugh and Pat Robertson's comments regarding the tragedy that took place in Haiti. Of all the places for God to show himself... THE DAILY SHOW!?! But sure enough, Jon Stewart recited scriptures from the Holy Bible on this national cable show! Not only were these scriptures applicable, but he was spot-on-right in my own humble opinion. While his delivery WAS a bit vulgar, he did touch the heart of God's mercy and compassion. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't shocked and a bit taken aback by such a real message from God put into terms that may or may not have spoken to Limbaugh or Robertson, but certainly spoke to a secular crowd to root for the home team... YAY GOD! It WAS God's word recited by Mr. Jon Stewart. We are to rebuke satan, devils and demons... NOT each other. The Light that these Haitian people need to see is sorely missing from Mr. Robertson (also on national television), only to be found in Jon Stewart??? God, you are found in the most peculiar places!

Psalm 34:18 - The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Isaiah 41:10 - fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Psalm 71:20 - You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again.

Isaiah 54: 10 - "...For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Mr. Stewart goes on to summarize that the referenced scriptures almost sound as if they were written about @#%*&! earthquakes. Spot-on Jon Stewart, spot-on. Check out the awesome video HERE!

MY VERY FIRST CRICUT CARTRIDGE GIVE AWAY!

Ok ... so the time has come. I've got some BRAND NEW, NEVER BEEN USED, STILL IN THE PLASTIC Cricut Cartridges to give away over the next couple of months and it starts with one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITES...... Hannah Montana! YAY! I LOVE this cartridge! It's got the most beautiful guitar images along with musical notes and FIVE fonts! I used the regular font and the rock star font to create my Father's Day card this year (see above). I also used the Hannah Montana cart (see below) to create a beautiful butterfly (FREE Gypsy cut file HERE ), and am currently working on a project using the gorgeous solitaire diamond. There's a rose and lips and decorative hearts, even a Pegasus ! There's just so much on this cartridge.... I use it a lot! To call this a "font" cartridge is terribly misleading. It's been a long time favorite and now I'm THRILLED to be able to give it away to one of my awesome readers! So here's how to win: Become one of my follower...

The First One!!!

Ok folks... it is here! This is my first-ever design project for The Burtonesque Dolls ! Wow! What a fun design project it was too! This week's challenge over at The Burtonesque Dolls is to create an original project following Cheri's AWESOME sketch (click on the link for deets)! Yah, this one was a fun one. I took this opportunity to play around with the different stitch options available on my sewing machine... boy, did I really open her up!!! hahahahahaha! You can't really see because of the stitching, but I found the perfect Tim Holtz paper with the words "Cat" and "Girl", spicing it all up with the key and lock and I couldn't help but devote this one to Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland. I felt the "period" image ( Tickled Pink Stamps , 20's Evie) was the PERFECT image for this and I LOVED trying to age everything with the monochromatic Copic coloring. Yah, this one is definitely a favorite and it's only my first one! And ...
