Thanx Matthew McConaughey

I'M ON DAY 12 OF THE MASTER CLEANSE!!!!!

For anyone who has ever done a fasting cleanse, you know that it is a big deal to get to day 10.  Anytime I can make it to the 10 day marker is a HUGE triumph for me (if you really knew me, you'd know that getting to day 3 is like a small miracle and I've only made it to day 10 a few times in the years that I've been cleansing), but this time around I discovered a little trick that seems to be making this whole process SOOOOO much easier.... and it was given to me by non other than Matthew McConaughey!  That's right, the actor...

Alright, so he didn't DIRECTLY give me this trick, but I came about it after watching The Dallas Buyer's Club.  I googled (that's a real word now right?) interviews with him discussing his weight loss and I picked up on a little something he said about his transformation:  he said that he spent a lot of time reading and writing.  In other words, he occupied his mind!  BRILLIANT!!!

I'm not going to lie here... I stopped being a couch potato about 5 cleanses ago, but when you're looking for something to do with all the extra time you have while doing a fasting cleanse (did I REALLY eat that much???), zoning out on movies was always my go-to that allowed me to kill some precious time.  But that's just it.... time really IS precious.  Do I really want to "zone out" when I have an opportunity to expand my mind while my body is taking a break????  And then he said something in another interview that REALLY tipped the scales, "Whatever energy I lost from my neck down, I gained from my neck up."  HOLY JESUS.... HE'S RIGHT!!!!  This isn't news to me. I've experienced the SAME thing every time I manage to get past day 10!  I needed to pick up something deep and heavy.

Ok, so reading is generally something "fun" that I do.  I'm all for a fun self help or romance novel (and more recently PORN with 50 Shades of Grey... yes, I finally conformed).  WHY did I never think of giving my brain something to chew on (pardon the pun) during a cleanse when my brain is so focused and clear???  Enter the beloved Dr. Dyer and the wisdom of the Tao!!!  This awesome book cover you see above is the little nugget of gold that I'm working on right now and it is WONDERFUL.  I hope to fill the next few weeks with some great works and see how far my mind can take me.  Wish me luck (your prayers wouldn't hurt either) and if you have any suggestions for some GREAT mind bending reading, leave me a comment and let me know.  Please note that I'm not really into sci-fi.

Congratulations for reaching Day 10 =) I should start cleansing, too =) Thanks for the inspiration!
So awesome that you have found a distraction :) I have been reading Kaylea Cross lately -- she writes suspense military romance novels ... she has 3 series -- and I loved them all :)

Gorgous Leaves Bundle Revisited

Yestday's Freebie Friday on a Monday projects were so fun and this set is SO BEAUTIFUL in it's simplicity!  It reminds me of a long-retired stamp set from Stampin Up!.  I was inspired to re-create the projects that I made with it once upon a time.  So here we go.... SIMPLE projects when you need a quick "hello" or an even quicker heartfelt sympathy card: I was DEFINITELY on a Bumblebee and Cajun Craze kick yesterday!  I can't stop/won't stop!  LOL!  To be fair... I had extra leaves die cut and didn't want anything to go to waste!  A quick speckle backdrop in Bumblebee then a quick "hello" greeting from the Biggest Wish in Cajun Craze with the Cajun Craze leaf popped up on a Basic White cardbase.  PERFECTION! Okay, as with yesterday's projects, the sentiment is from the recently retired SAB Delicate Dahlia's set, but you could use ANY sympathy sentiment you have in your stash.  Unlike in the past when I had to mask off the center rectangle...

Got My Healthy Game On.... YO!

So, I've found some new fun in fitness.... the Wii! First of all, let me start by saying that when you change your lifestyle from sedentary to active, it is important to incorporate changes that will stick. And for me... this Wii will be sticking around for quite some time! The fact that this video game is played by your body movements alone should be winning the Pulitzer Prize for turning around the obesity epidemic in this country by introducing physical activity BACK into our kids lives! Whew! That was a super run on sentence! hahahaha! Earlier this week I got the balance board for the Wii. It included a game called Wii Fit. I have read quite a few reviews on the Wii Fit complaining that it doesn't include full exercise segments. In my opinion this game is lacking nothing because it is simply introducing fun exercise into our inactive lives and into our child's life . In a day and age when kids are typically found on their bottoms in front of a video game, eyes seemingly...
