Attention Cricuteers!

I finally figured out how to use those markers in my dang cricut machine!!! I HAD to figure it out soon because one of the markers from the set that I got FOREVER ago went dry. That's how long it's taken me to figure out! So the key to using them is to not remove your mat from the machine. THE "LOAD PAPER" BUTTON TAKES YOU BACK TO THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF YOUR MAT SO YOUR PAPER STAYS ON THE SAME X/Y AXIS....Nice! That is it! That is the secret to use the markers! If you look closely, you can see where I messed up the blue marker lines because I removed the paper to change out the marker and insert the blade. When it didn't work out, I ended up leaving it because it added a nice dimensional layer to this little koi fish... (oh and also so I could show you what my goof looks like). Only after I cut the image did I see that the outline didn't work. So instead of removing the mat and paper again, I hit "load paper" and redid the outline with a brown marker and it matched the cut fish perfectly leaving the blue marker lines in all the right places to make this mistake look like an "on purpose"! I love it. So a big thank you goes out to MyPinkStamper.com's GREAT video which I found after MANY failed attempts to use these markers on my own! :) Also... please note that I found that the "repeat last" button is only used when the drawing and the actual cut are the same. Since I was cutting the blackout image and drawing the details of the image WITHIN the blackout image, the only thing I needed was to NOT remove my mat and hit "load paper" button to get me back to the beginning prior to cutting the image that I drew with the markers. I am LOVING this new technique!!!! Now to master the mini gel pens using the gelly pen grippers that I just got at Walmart.... whew!

*** The koi fish came from the new Pagoda cartridge and the "Beauty Within" is from the Gypsy Font on my Gypsy that I welded. I have this cut file saved on my Gypsy, please leave a comment here if you would like the cut file to download and I'll add it to the list.

I used the markers the first time I got them and it makes the cut pop. I love the markers but I did not know they will dry up! Ok, that is a DUH comment! lol Now, I need to learn to use multiple markers on the same image! I know, I am asking for a lot! lol

Gorgous Leaves Bundle Revisited

Yestday's Freebie Friday on a Monday projects were so fun and this set is SO BEAUTIFUL in it's simplicity!  It reminds me of a long-retired stamp set from Stampin Up!.  I was inspired to re-create the projects that I made with it once upon a time.  So here we go.... SIMPLE projects when you need a quick "hello" or an even quicker heartfelt sympathy card: I was DEFINITELY on a Bumblebee and Cajun Craze kick yesterday!  I can't stop/won't stop!  LOL!  To be fair... I had extra leaves die cut and didn't want anything to go to waste!  A quick speckle backdrop in Bumblebee then a quick "hello" greeting from the Biggest Wish in Cajun Craze with the Cajun Craze leaf popped up on a Basic White cardbase.  PERFECTION! Okay, as with yesterday's projects, the sentiment is from the recently retired SAB Delicate Dahlia's set, but you could use ANY sympathy sentiment you have in your stash.  Unlike in the past when I had to mask off the center rectangle...

Got My Healthy Game On.... YO!

So, I've found some new fun in fitness.... the Wii! First of all, let me start by saying that when you change your lifestyle from sedentary to active, it is important to incorporate changes that will stick. And for me... this Wii will be sticking around for quite some time! The fact that this video game is played by your body movements alone should be winning the Pulitzer Prize for turning around the obesity epidemic in this country by introducing physical activity BACK into our kids lives! Whew! That was a super run on sentence! hahahaha! Earlier this week I got the balance board for the Wii. It included a game called Wii Fit. I have read quite a few reviews on the Wii Fit complaining that it doesn't include full exercise segments. In my opinion this game is lacking nothing because it is simply introducing fun exercise into our inactive lives and into our child's life . In a day and age when kids are typically found on their bottoms in front of a video game, eyes seemingly...
