Not So Nifty

Ok gang, it's the new year... 2011... WOW!!! So if you've read my past posts about this particular event, New Years, then you know my feelings about making resolutions on the 1st of the year. That's not to say that I didn't set some goals for this year... I totally did! One of my FIRST GOALS, is to FINALLY get some closure with this Nifty Fifties cartridge glitch!

So back in OCTOBER I contacted Provo Craft regarding the brand new Nifty Fifties cartridge I received. Within moments of opening the package and flipping through the handbook (you know you all do that too!!!!) I discovered pretty quickly that various cuts for multiple images on this cartridge are located in multiple locations. Example: The ice cream cone (and it's parts) can be found on page 57 AND page 66. There are NUMEROUS images on this cartridge that are like this, so I contacted PC immediately. I was told that they were going to work on the issue and get back to me and until then I wasn't to upload the cartridge to my Gypsy. Well, here it is going on 3 months later with no word as to whether corrections have been made and if they will be getting me a repaired version of this oh-so-cool cartridge, even an actual update would be nice. I really do love all the designs on this cartridge... it seems a pity that I haven't been able to upload to my Gypsy. It seems an even bigger pity that ProvoCraft's customer service is STILL so lacking!!! I really did have such high hopes for them thinking they had starting turning that ship around... clearly not, it's been 3 MONTHS!!! But I did finally break it out for some "Fifties" themed projects... check out the "Drive In" sign!!! Is that "far out" or what!?! There's also another great retro motel sign that I'm totally "diggin".... hahahahahhahahahhaha. I want to believe that the customer service nightmare that is ProvoCraft is worth all the wonderful images and cartridges that they pour out... I really, really do. Maybe good customer service was THEIR 2011 Resolution. We shall see!

Oh that sucks! U would think such a large company would be more "with it".
I love the card!! It came out wonderfully. Sorry to hear about those glitches, I was eyeing this cart so it's good to have a heads-up.

Past 7 Days....

Velcome To The Little Hop of HORRORS!!!

MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! So I tried to make the title sound really spooky and ran out of room to include my evil laugh... hahaha! WELCOME HOPPERS! Are you thoroughly spooked and amazed? I know I am! You already know that today is the start of our Halloween celebration with a blog hop organized by my good friend Nicole of Canadian Nickel Scrap'n . If you're currently hopping, you should be arriving here from the Fabulous Eulanda's blog ... wasn't that Caramel Corn Box AWESOME?!? If you haven't arrived from Eulanda's blog and are just now joining us, hop to the bottom of this post for details on how the blog hop works. And now for my scary good fun before you head over to Gloria's blog on the next stop of this hop. Today I've got the "Welcome" sign that I will be hanging in my foyer this Halloween. I used my Simple Frame Gypsy cut file as well as the pumpkins and faces from the Pumpkin Carvings Seasonal Cricut Cartridge (just like the one I will be g...

MY VERY FIRST CRICUT CARTRIDGE GIVE AWAY!

Ok ... so the time has come. I've got some BRAND NEW, NEVER BEEN USED, STILL IN THE PLASTIC Cricut Cartridges to give away over the next couple of months and it starts with one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITES...... Hannah Montana! YAY! I LOVE this cartridge! It's got the most beautiful guitar images along with musical notes and FIVE fonts! I used the regular font and the rock star font to create my Father's Day card this year (see above). I also used the Hannah Montana cart (see below) to create a beautiful butterfly (FREE Gypsy cut file HERE ), and am currently working on a project using the gorgeous solitaire diamond. There's a rose and lips and decorative hearts, even a Pegasus ! There's just so much on this cartridge.... I use it a lot! To call this a "font" cartridge is terribly misleading. It's been a long time favorite and now I'm THRILLED to be able to give it away to one of my awesome readers! So here's how to win: Become one of my follower...

More Cutting Above Inspiration

So yah, winning the Gypsy would be WONDERFUL! But how great is THIS!?! THANK YOU BETTYBEE for this awesome card. Mine didn't turn out quite like yours did. I didn't have all the materials that you had on your tutorial ( click here ) on the Cutting Above blog, so I improvised with aluminum foil from my kitchen for the swirled tree and simple glitter embossing powder on cardstock and a hole punch for the glitter ornaments. So, it's pretty, but I was convinced that I could do better.... mine just wasn't turning out as nice as BettyBee's did! So here it is again in black, red and silver.... I LOVE THIS ONE!!! The second time's the charm! This card is going to someone VERY special this year for Christmas! BettyBee... thank you again! LOVE the blog, love this card and love that you guys are giving away 2 Provo Craft Gypsies just like the one that debuted on HSN September 24th!!!!!!!!!! Provo Craft Gypsy winners will be announced October 4th... there's still time ...
