Retired Stampin Up For An Envelope Gift Card

It's sad really that I have to wait until a stamp set is retired to really start to play with it, but here I am with a birthday gift card holder I made using Stampin Up's Postage Collection.  I believe this was a hostess set, but please don't quote me.  The background is Stampin Up's Dictionary background stamp.  I used burlap for the banners and a brown baker's twine from Teresa Collins World Traveler line (yes, it too is retired) for this really fun gift card holder.... you heard that right, this is not a card but a gift card holder!!!  Its finished measurements are 4 3/8" x 4 1/4" and it was made using a standard A2 envelope!

Inside I used Stampin Up's Memorable Moments to create the Happy Birthday greeting.  I also used Tim Holtz distress inks to create the worn paper background with a couple of circle punches to notch out a spot for the gift card.  And the area stamped again with the Dictionary and Postage Collection stamps was stamped with Stampin Up's Crumb Cake ink so it is light enough to write a message there.  I will be using the Stampin Up Stamp and Write marker in Cajun Craze so that it matches the color of the red hot air balloon.

And finally, here is another one of my "happy accidents".  A few days ago I told you about one of the 20 owl-punch-themed cards I had to redo because of an ink smear.  Well, you won't believe this, but it happened again.  This time though the ink was on my mat from stamping the Dictionary background, not smeared from my fingers.  So instead of starting over I simply stamped on the craft mat in a random pattern with the Dictionary stamp and then laid the back of the card into the ink before stamping it with my handmade mark.  I try to always stamp the cards I give away with my handmade mark so the person receiving it knows how special they are.  Time and love went into making this!

If you would like to make this surprisingly easy gift card holder, check out Dawn's YouTube video HERE.  She gives really great instructions.... you won't believe how simple it is!!!!

Don't forget:  My Stampin Up Card Club party is still going on through the end of July.  The person who places the largest order will receive 20 owl-punch-themed cards as a "Thank You".  This is open to EVERYONE!  To place an order simply go to StampinUp.com and click on "store" at the top.  Place the items you'd like to order in the shopping cart and input the hostess code where provided to get full credit for your purchase. The hostess code is UCUFWPDU!

THE BEST PART:  You won't have to wait to receive your order.  Once you place your order, it will ship DIRECTLY to you within two business days!!!  No more waiting for a show to "close" to get your goodies.  And now's the time to do it!  My hostess code is only good until July 30th!!!!  Thanx in advance!!!

MY VERY FIRST CRICUT CARTRIDGE GIVE AWAY!

Ok ... so the time has come. I've got some BRAND NEW, NEVER BEEN USED, STILL IN THE PLASTIC Cricut Cartridges to give away over the next couple of months and it starts with one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITES...... Hannah Montana! YAY! I LOVE this cartridge! It's got the most beautiful guitar images along with musical notes and FIVE fonts! I used the regular font and the rock star font to create my Father's Day card this year (see above). I also used the Hannah Montana cart (see below) to create a beautiful butterfly (FREE Gypsy cut file HERE ), and am currently working on a project using the gorgeous solitaire diamond. There's a rose and lips and decorative hearts, even a Pegasus ! There's just so much on this cartridge.... I use it a lot! To call this a "font" cartridge is terribly misleading. It's been a long time favorite and now I'm THRILLED to be able to give it away to one of my awesome readers! So here's how to win: Become one of my follower
