And So It Begins

Guess what I got in the mail!!!  The Stampin Up 2014 Holiday Catalog!!!!  And to celebrate the pre-holiday ordering season, my demonstrator gave me some stamped images to play with.  Of all of them, the Happy Hanukkah stamp JUMPED OUT AT ME!   I'll give you three guesses why.... isn't this SPOOKILY DELICIOUS?!?

I IMMEDIATELY thought of Halloween when I saw this GORGEOUS candelabra and requested it be stamped without the "Happy Hanukkah" sentiment as it is all one stamp.  The Hanukkah example in the catalog is really very beautiful, but this sort of SCREAMS Halloween to me.  I'll give you two more guesses what will be on my next Stampin Up order.... LOL!

And so it begins!  This is my first Halloween project this year and my blood is boiling with excitement for the upcoming Halloween season. Gonna have to brew some coffee.... I'm gonna be inking up some more Halloween fun!  MAN!  I need to get moving on my costume!!!!

Paper Used:  Stampin Up Very Vanilla, Black and Orange from the scrap pile

It's about time you got started. You know I never quit, so I've just been waiting for everyone else to catch up.

Hi
The Chanukah Menorah is a religious symbol so some people may be offended by using it this way. Just a hint. No offense intended.

I received the above comment and felt the need to go ahead and allow the comment to post. I IN NO WAY meant to offend my Jewish friends. If I offended in any way I am sorry. Had it been a real menorah, I promise, I would not have knowingly altered it for the holiday of Halloween. My posts are never meant to offend.

The BEST Copic Storage

**** HUGE HALLOWEEN GIVE AWAY... CLICK HERE !!!!**** Ok, so I've done posts in the past about various Copic storage solutions, but I was given THE MOTHER of all storage ideas by my friends Jennie Black and Krista Koenig!!!   Let me share with you the construction of the storage box and then I'll finish this off with the BRILLIANT solution my husband came up with.... cuz I married a GENIUS!!! What you'll need to create the AWESOME storage box pictured here is: 1 Double Deep Art Bin 1 plastic grid for ceiling lighting (found at your local home improvement store) 1 half inch thick wooden square dowel (also found at your local home improvement store) Dimensional adhesive squares Wire cutters or sheers Screws with corresponding drill bit Drill So I first cut the ceiling grid down to 19 squares by 19 squares using my wire cutters.   You will need two 19 x 19 sections of grid material.   The wire cutters went through the plastic material of the grid like b...

Good Eggs

Well.... yesterday was THE BEST DAY EVER!!!  Not only did I score AMAZING card kits from Dove Art Studio's class yesterday, but I also got to hang out with some of my favorite people!!!  Now, truth be told, I spent just about the entire day (off and on) coloring the images you see pictured.   I don't typically spend that kind of time coloring three cards, but I was working on coloring the standard "Copic" method of coloring and it was HARD for me to change up my order of application, pressure, etc.  It was almost like I was a beginner all over again!!!  I really got a taste of what my coloring students go through.  So....here are three things to keep in mind when you sit down to color with alcohol ink markers: 1.  Know YOUR mechanics and the mechanics of the pens.  Alcohol ink is like no other medium I can think of.  The blendability of this ink is AWESOME but if you try too hard, you will not get the best these markers ha...

Out Of Pocket

So sorry to be MIA folks!!!! My niece gave birth this past Christmas (yes, a Christmas baby!) and 14 days later she collapsed unconscious. She was rushed to emergency and a blood clot was discovered. How can that be?!? She's only 18 years old!!! Needless to say, I'm totally in shock that this has happened. But because of this I will be out of pocket for a short while as I am spending as much time as I can with her and my family. PLEASE, for those who are prayerful, PLEASE pray for her speedy and complete recovery. Thank you... you all are always so wonderful!!!
