Drinking The Kool-Aid.... Uh I Mean Coffee

Yep.... my family is NOW on the Keurig bandwagon!!!  The hub's work just got one a month ago and THIS GEM is what he wanted for Valentine's Day!  Today's blog post is hopefully gonna help save folks some time and money.

First off, this thing really is INCREDIBLE.  Everyone has told me how great it is but no one informed me HOW great it is.  It makes espresso, coffee, hot chocolate, spiced cider, and herbal tea*.... remove the bottom plate, place a tall glass filled with ice and make iced coffee and iced tea, all in less than ONE FLIPPIN MINUTE!!!  Depending on what you pay for K-cups, each cup will cost you 34-75 cents.  Really, can you beat that????  That is WAY-WAY better than the $5 I'm spending at Starbucks!  HOW did I live without this????

So we went to 5 different stores before ending up at Costco where we figured we saved about $100 between the savings on the unit and the extra K-cups that came with the unit PLUS the Costco one came with a personal K-cup where you can fill it with whatever coffee grounds (or herbal tea blends* cuz I'm kind of a tea nut) you want to brew.  Costco sold this Platinum model for $149 with the personal K-cup, a filter and 60 K-cups in a wide variety of flavors.  The BEST price we saw anywhere else was $179 at Macy's and it only came with 12 K-cups and it didn't have the personal K-cup with it.  Honestly, if you were going to go for something without all the bells and whistles and could stand to wait for the item to be delivered, you can get it on Amazon.com for around $130.  But for us, no waiting and all the extra goodies was well worth the $149 we spent at Costco.  Did I mention this one has a HUGE 70+ ounce water reservoir???

Who out there HASN'T drank the Keurig Kool-Aid????

*I don't recommend using this machine to make teas other than herbal teas as the temp can only be adjusted on this unit 5 degrees up or 5 degrees down which means the water is still too hot for delicate tea leaves.

Inking Pink Blog Hop

Hi Hoppers! Danielle, a.k.a. FitterTwit here.... so glad you made it!!! If you're mid-hop, you should be arriving here from Chelsea's blog . Was that a great project or what!?! If you're just joining us and need to start the hop from the beginning, you're gonna want to head over to our lovely Hop Hostess Patricia's blog to start the fun here on our VERY IMPORTANT Inking Pink Blog Hop! Here's to Breast Cancer Awareness!!! My project for this hop is a reminder card..."Remember your checkups!" What a wonderful way to say "I love you" to a dear friend or family member. Now you may not be able to see it in the pic above, but I altered The Greeting Farm's Ebony so that her tee shirt reads, "Say YES to Mammograms!" So, today I wanted to share HOW I added the words to her tee. First I printed the words as small as I could and still be able to read the message using my laser printer onto the paper that I would be using to color in my im...

Another Oldie But A Goody

Oh how I missed you!  This is a mani I haven't done in quite some time and I JUST realized that it NEVER got posted on my blog the first time I did it.  I can't believe it!  It's one of my favorites... and NOT just because it's a Halloween mani (mostly, but not entirely).  I like it because of all the Konad image plates I get to use to create this wonderful Halloween collage on my nails!  So here it is for the first time here on FunandmentalChanges.com!!!  And check out my thumb.... My thumb is sort of an exception to the rest of the manicure because the scary jack-o-lantern is off of a "fauxnad" plate, but the rest of the Konad images plates are M3, M17, M18, C01, C04 and C05.  Wow.... that really IS a lot of plates!!! So my base coat is Nail Aid's Pink Growth Therapy, then one coat of Orly's Mirror Mirror and then the various images stamped in Konad's special black and white polishes.  I LOVE THIS ONE!!!  The inspiration for this ...

Great Things Come In Small Packages

A couple of nights ago I had the pleasure of going to a Joel Osteen event. His wife and kids were there, his brother Paul was there along with local ministers. I did not pay for my ticket and believe it or not, I was picked up in a white hummer with black tinted windows... "my limo", I called it. This event was literally given to me. I got to spend the evening with two of the most amazing women and we had a BLAST. With all of that to be so grateful for, I find that my sights are set on the greatest gift given to me that night.... Philemon 1:6 . I really hate admitting this, but I have never read Philemon and I don't know why (it's 1.5 pages for crying out loud!!!). I want to say that it's so small and easily missed, but that isn't a reason.... made even less of a reason since I have tabs that extend from my Bible that don't know 50 pages from 1.... no excuses. Honestly, BECAUSE it's so small, it really should not have gone unread. Could ANY book of the...
