Make It Crafty Blog Hop

Woo Hoo!!! Isn't this hop AMAZING!?! All the projects on this hop are incredible!!! If you are mid hop, you should be arriving here from Carisa's awesome blog, WELCOME! If you haven't started this hop from the beginning, you're definitely going to want to.... so many prizes in store!!! Click HERE to start at the beginning.

Prizes Up For Grabs

  • 1st prize - Rubber Collection (Peaches of Plenty, Petals and Palings, Daffodil Dell, Ivy Swing)
  • 2nd prize - Whole Digital Collection (10 digital stamps)
  • 3rd Prize - Four digital Stamps from the collection
  • The hop will end Friday 24th and the main winners will be announced Christmas Day!
  • Random winners will be announced at a later date.

How To Play Along

Along the way, look for puzzle pieces. They won’t be on every post so you need to keep an eye out for them. The puzzle pieces make up one of the NEW images. At the end of the hop there will be an email form where you can submit your answer. This is so that your answer is private.

All the correct answers will be placed into a draw in the order that they are received and random winners will be chosen.

Leave comments on each blog to win random prizes. There are SEVEN hidden prizes along the way that could be rubber or digital stamps so make sure you leave a comment as you hop to ensure you have a chance at winning additional prizes!

Win A Bonus

Place our blog hop blinkie on your blog for more chances to win! Make sure you comment on every post as we will randomly select a commenter from a random post and if they have the blinkie on their blog they will win a choice of one rubber stamp and one digi stamp from the new collection.

Alright.... so now for my project! I am sooooo proud of this project!!! Unlike the other UBER-TALENTED ladies in this hop, I am new to the Make It Crafty stamps! So like many who are hopping, a whole new world opened up when I got the opportunity to see these stamps in action... used with other stamps that I already own and in some cases, had forgotten about. And now I get the opportunity to design with the wonderful artists that opened up that world to me.... well, lets just say, I'm so honored to get to work with these amazing designers! So I think it's appropriate for this hop (our first one!) to share where MY new world is starting. Here is my very-first-ever masking project!!! I happened to have used the AWESOME video tutorial over at Make It Crafty and it worked perfectly.... stay tuned, cuz the tutorial will be posted after the new year!!!

The one tip that I can share that REALLY made this project happen for me, was that I used the Zip 2 Way Glue and "dotted" the glue on the back of my mask (approximately 10 specs of glue for this C.C. Designs Swiss Pixies Ladybug Nora rubber stamp) that I allowed to dry for 5 minutes before "masking" the original stamped image and THEN put through the printer to print out Make It Crafy's Ivy Swing Digi. Once my swing scene printed, the mask peeled off PERFECTLY!!! I was pretty amazed that it was as easy as that!!! Wait till you see the tutorial for yourself.... definitely something to look forward to in 2011!!!

Ok hoppers! The next stop is Irina's AWESOME project (be sure to click on "English" at the top of the right margin if you need the site translated to English)! Have fun on the rest of the hop and be sure to check back in here after Christmas for the announcement of a "surprise" winner here at Fun And Mental Changes.

*** Special Note: You will see in the pic above that I used a sticky note to cut out my mask, but because my laser printer is a commercial machine, I was afraid it might get hung up in my unit if I didn't find a way to temporarily adhere the whole mask. The Zip 2 Way was perfect as it didn't disturb the stamped image underneath.

MY VERY FIRST CRICUT CARTRIDGE GIVE AWAY!

Ok ... so the time has come. I've got some BRAND NEW, NEVER BEEN USED, STILL IN THE PLASTIC Cricut Cartridges to give away over the next couple of months and it starts with one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITES...... Hannah Montana! YAY! I LOVE this cartridge! It's got the most beautiful guitar images along with musical notes and FIVE fonts! I used the regular font and the rock star font to create my Father's Day card this year (see above). I also used the Hannah Montana cart (see below) to create a beautiful butterfly (FREE Gypsy cut file HERE ), and am currently working on a project using the gorgeous solitaire diamond. There's a rose and lips and decorative hearts, even a Pegasus ! There's just so much on this cartridge.... I use it a lot! To call this a "font" cartridge is terribly misleading. It's been a long time favorite and now I'm THRILLED to be able to give it away to one of my awesome readers! So here's how to win: Become one of my follower

Back In The Saddle

Well, here I am! Back after a hard couple of weeks, but I'm thrilled to have such an AWESOME crafty diversion (I REALLY needed it too)! So Make It Colourful is running a pretty cool challenge this week to create a monochromatic/vintage/photo project, click HERE to check out the details for the challenge and to see what the rest of the design team turned out (the projects are AMAZING!!!). My project has that dreamy, Victorian feel to it featuring The Greeting Farm's Freaky Flutter digi as well as Make It Crafty's Open Window digi . For those who do not know, Make It Crafty's blog has THE BEST tutorials! To see how to layer two digis (like the two I'm featuring here), check out Make It Crafty's How To Use Your Make it Crafty Digital Stamps in MS Word video tutorial. For this project I also mixed the neutral, warm and cool grey Copic Markers... I've never done THAT before! I thought it ended up being a pretty neat effect. Everywhere I envisioned there would

Spicy Chicken Pad Tai

I am a lover of Pad Tai noodles. Anyone looking to replace egg or wheat noddles, THIS is the alternative. Pad Tai noodles are rice noodles and even easier to prepare than the egg or wheat noodles and don't contain gluten, so they are so good and good for you. I am also a lover of the spicy. Anyone looking to open up those sinus cavities, again, this is your one stop shop! Here is the meat version of my Farmer's Market Delight! :) Enjoy!!!! Spicy Chicken Pad Tai One large handful of Pad Tai Noodles (I buy the fresh noodles from my local asian market. If using boxed noodles, prepare per the box directions). One large handful of fresh noodles will fill a steam pot/skillet. 3 tablespoons of water 1 tablespoon Nama Shoyu 1/2 teaspoon garlic-chili sauce *** 4 green onions diced (including the greens) 1 red bell pepper chopped 1 small zucchini chopped 2 stalks of celery chopped on the diagonal 1 large, fully cooked, left over chicken breast chopped In a hot skillet or wok, add water,
