Feelin The Juice!

Wow... it has been a while since I sat down and colored.  I started this beauty some time ago and FINALLY finished her while hangin out with my fellow Paste Eaters (a little girl-power-scrapper group I LOVE attending and miss far too often).  Its nice to have a little inspiration.  It's also nice to sit and color again.  It appears that applying a little Feng Shui to my 'spaces' is just the thing the doctor ordered to get the old juices flowing!!! This one's just a simple card, but coloring ANY Make It Crafty image will take something from simple to smashing in no time.  This beauty is Pipi and I altered her a bit by removing her pigtails using Photoshop Elements.  I like the "pixie" look of her without them.  I'm gonna have to give coloring the full image a try.  To get your hands on this GORGEOUS image, click HERE . Now for those of your who read my last post and responded about my wedding dress.  STAY TUNED!!!  While I can't...

There's No Place Like Home

Graphic 45's Magic of Oz arrived at Paper Vineyard last week and this week the design team had a BLAST playing with all the goodies!!!  I took a cue from my new blog friend Barb and used a scrapbook layout she completed as inspiration for my project.  The simplicity of using up those mini-scraps is just BEYOND brilliant.  She is the newest of the MANY talented blog friends I have, so don't be surprised if you see me saying her name A LOT!!!  Her talent is out of this world and TOTALLY up my alley [thanx for the card Barb, it is WONDERFUL]!!! So, of course, I used Copics for this project.  LOTS of E40's and R20's and finished up with YG20's... with a little Y18 and Y00 thrown in to make the cat tails and the shiny doorknob.  For some reason, my shadowing lightened A LOT on this pic, so I'm going to try and take another pic in better lighting and re-post.  Hopefully I can show this a little better.  For some reason, I've been sucking with m...

Uber Fun Background!!!

OOOOO... Copic Airbrush [drool]!  Yep, I can't seem to get enough of it as of late.  So when the Make It Colourful design team was challenged to create a new and different background... I broke out my airbrush (what!?!  It's new to me!!!) So the concept for a nice airbrush is to use colors that compliment your design, that way when you spray, it makes the image pop.  For example, the browns and reds that I used for this are enhanced by the Y23 Copic airbrushed around the edges.  And if slight overspray occurs, the "mist" just adds to the color palette instead of being covered by it.  Also, I wouldn't have sprayed a color like blue because slight overspray would REALLY stand out on top of these earthy hues.  I hope that makes sense.  Here's a list of Copics that I used for this.... E00, E02, E04, E08, E39, E50, E51, E59, Y23, Y26 and W3.  Y23 is the color that I used on the apron as well as airbrushing the background with it.  I re...

Self Discovery

Ok, so this week's challenge over at Make It Colourful is to create an original project featuring smooth gradients.  Guess what...... I just discovered that I see the world in ultra high contrast, so this one was oh-so-tough for me. I worked VERY hard on this project to really blend and keep lines smooth.... yah, REALLY tough!  But overall, I'm pretty proud of this one!!!!  I used WAY MORE Copic markers than I'm used to and in more consecutive sequencing than I typically do... no jumping four and five shades, well, not too much... OK, I DID A LOT OF JUMPING, hahahahahhaha!   WHAT!?!  I told you it was tough!!! So here we go:  Stamps I used were Summer Fairy from The Greeting Farm and Make It Crafty's Forest Flower .  The Copic markers I used were:  E35, E40, E41, E42, E43, E44, E49, E50, E51, R46, Y0000, Y26, YG03, YG63, YG93, YG97, YR12, YR14, YR15, W00, W0,W3, W5 Welp, that about does it fo...

I'm A Little Late

So sorry about missing the mark on this one gang!  I was supposed to post my project for Make It Colourful yesterday, but I'm getting over being sick on top of a HECTIC and EXCITING work week and then was invited to breakfast yesterday to find out that MY SON GOT ENGAGED!!!!  Yeah, it's been quite the eventful couple of weeks!  So I'm posting my project this morning since.... I start the Master Cleanse today and quite frankly could use a little diversion!  LOL! So this project features this week's sponsor over at Make It Colourful , Whimsy Stamps.  The stamps I used are Whimsy stamp, Girl With Kitty and Make It Crafty's Crooked Picket Fence .  The background coloring is actually from a "doodle" page that I was doing while practicing with my new Copic airbrush system.  I ended up printing out the Crooked Fence over top of it and coloring in the fence to finalize it.  I think the background really turned out great and created it's ow...

Quite The Challenge

FUN CHALLENGE ALERT... this week's challenge over at Make It Colourful is to color on something OTHER than white cardstock, so I chose to stamp a candle!!! I used the Ornate Floral Scroll over at Make It Crafty and American Art Stamps' Zen 10 stamp to stamp this beautifully smelling vanilla candle! This was definitely an AWESOME challenge and I can't wait to see what everyone does with this. Click HERE to head over to the challenge and get some more inspiration from the rest of the Colour Addicts.... I know for a fact that they turned out some AMAZING stuff for this one!!! Copics used for this project: E00, E33, E35, E39, E40, E49, R20, R22, R29, Y18, YG03, YG63. Thanx for joining in on the fun!

Back In The Saddle

Well, here I am! Back after a hard couple of weeks, but I'm thrilled to have such an AWESOME crafty diversion (I REALLY needed it too)! So Make It Colourful is running a pretty cool challenge this week to create a monochromatic/vintage/photo project, click HERE to check out the details for the challenge and to see what the rest of the design team turned out (the projects are AMAZING!!!). My project has that dreamy, Victorian feel to it featuring The Greeting Farm's Freaky Flutter digi as well as Make It Crafty's Open Window digi . For those who do not know, Make It Crafty's blog has THE BEST tutorials! To see how to layer two digis (like the two I'm featuring here), check out Make It Crafty's How To Use Your Make it Crafty Digital Stamps in MS Word video tutorial. For this project I also mixed the neutral, warm and cool grey Copic Markers... I've never done THAT before! I thought it ended up being a pretty neat effect. Everywhere I envisioned there would...
