A Little RAK For A Great Cause! I read a blog post the other day over at Paper Blessings about a free digi stamp that was created by one of my favorite artists. Not only is this digi stamp AMAZING, but it was also created for a very special cause. You all ready for a little RAK (random act of kindness)? The name of this stamp is called "Beach Baby Jayme". Jayme was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and her sister Lisa is holding a special event to help brighten the remainder of the time she has left. You can read the details HERE . As I promised earlier today... here's the big news regarding SmashFit.com, but first let me give you a back story. I am a big believer in the law of reciprocity - what you give, is what you get. I believe that sacrifice is directly linked to success and that the heart of a volunteer is a powerful thing. So with all of these beliefs driving this bus, last year I volunteered to work for Heather Frey of SmashFit.com. I have been working for over a year and a half to increase my health and fitness and had an opportunity to give my time and service to someone with a passion for everyone on the same journey as me... I JUMPED at the chance to volunteer for that. So after devoting time volunteering last year, THIS YEAR I just got me a new title.... I am the new General Smash Manager for SmashFit.com! There will be plenty more info to come as I get ramped in this position, so you all will get to hear about my journey. You will also get tips and hear about all the fun events happening ...

I just volunteered to make cards for our soldiers overseas (click on pics to enlarge). I love volunteering and I love crafting, so when the opportunity to combine the two presented itself... well, of course I was on-board! But I COULD NOT have done it without my Cricut and my Xyron 900. It would have taken me forever! I spent the day working an assembly line to make these pretty cards inspired by Abby (thanx Abby!). First was the stamping, then the coloring with the water color pencils, then the blending with water, then the drying and embellishing all before cutting out each image.... twenty... 2.... 0.... But it just so happens that while I was doing all those steps, I was also cutting out my card fronts and mats on my cricut. See, the beauty of the Cricut is you can load and cut your paper and walk away while it's cutting. On top of that, I was able to plan out all of my cuts with my Gypsy which saved even more time and certainly more paper. Twenty cards were made in all and I ...
