Climbing Back On The Horse

So it has been a long week and a half since my good friend Trish passed away and THANKFULLY another dear friend came in to town to make me feel WORLDS better.  She even allowed me to use her as a guinea pig model for my Halloween series here on my blog:

Now THAT is friendship!!!  Check her out!!!
I'm telling you.... the right makeup and brushes makes the WORLD of difference when putting together a look for Halloween.  This was my first attempt at doing someone else's makeup, but I'm thinking that I'll keep practicing.  Maybe I'll offer to do Halloween makeup for ALL of my friends!  Anyone brave enough?  LOL!  HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

So for those who might be wondering what I used for this look...
  • Diamond FX White applied with a lightly dampened makeup sponge for the white base
  • Ben Nye Pressed Shadows in Brownberry, Black, White and Soleil Red
  • Black details were done with Ben Nye Cake Liner mixed with a couple of drops of Ben Nye LiquiSet
  • The final details using the same Diamond FX White that I used for the base applied with a thin round brush.
  • Lipstick is OPI Lip Color in St. Petersburgundy
And that is it!  And can I say, SHE LOVED IT!!!  Even when I sealed her eyes shut applying the cake liner mixed with the LiquiSet on her lids and around her eyes.  We were laughing in hysterics while I used a warm, wet washcloth to free her lashes so she could open her eyes!!!  Another benefit of the right makeup for Halloween.  MOST Halloween makeup lines are water based making messes quick to clean up/fix!!!  I think that was a good lesson to learn on my very first victim model in my very first Halloween series.  27 DAYS TO GO!!!

MY VERY FIRST CRICUT CARTRIDGE GIVE AWAY!

Ok ... so the time has come. I've got some BRAND NEW, NEVER BEEN USED, STILL IN THE PLASTIC Cricut Cartridges to give away over the next couple of months and it starts with one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITES...... Hannah Montana! YAY! I LOVE this cartridge! It's got the most beautiful guitar images along with musical notes and FIVE fonts! I used the regular font and the rock star font to create my Father's Day card this year (see above). I also used the Hannah Montana cart (see below) to create a beautiful butterfly (FREE Gypsy cut file HERE ), and am currently working on a project using the gorgeous solitaire diamond. There's a rose and lips and decorative hearts, even a Pegasus ! There's just so much on this cartridge.... I use it a lot! To call this a "font" cartridge is terribly misleading. It's been a long time favorite and now I'm THRILLED to be able to give it away to one of my awesome readers! So here's how to win: Become one of my follower...
