Fun With The Girls

Yesterday turned out to be a pretty awesome day at Paper Vineyard's first-ever All Day Copic Coloring event.  Not only did I get to hang out with my favorite girl friends, I also got to meet some new ones!!!  That's just what Copic markers do... they bring friends together!!! 

The day was PACKED with activity beginning right at 9 a.m. with an UBER YUMMY breakfast.  Honestly, pancakes with whipped cream and blueberries?  Eggs and sausage?  Really?  At a scrapbook store?  YUP!!!  The owner Adriana has mad kitchen skillz!!!  Then Jennie Black (super star that she is) came all the way from California to hang out with us and teach a class.  She is such an incredible lady and a wonderful teacher!!!   She did a FABULOUS job teaching us all lighting to effect subject matter and mood.  LOVED IT!!!  Here are pics of her samples from class. 
In the pic on the left, of the boy sitting with his dog, Jennie pointed out that it was colored so that the light was illuminating the heads of both the boy and the dog whereas the boy, his dog and his plane are illuminated in the pic on the right.  Crazy how lighting in our projects can play such a BIG role in telling a story... like the one of a boy's bond with the things he loves!   Definitely a WONDERFUL class Jennie.  :)

And if Jennie's class wasn't enough, we also got to enjoy a ton of FREE make n' takes throughout the day.  Of course I got to get in on the act and created this fun card to do as a make n' take:

 
But then Dana Edwards gave us THIS cooler than cool canvas creation:



Kelly Wann gave us this BEWITCHING creation:


And Krista Koenig gave us this EERILY AMAZING gem!!!

 Yep!  My friends are SOOOOOO talented!!!  It was a blast getting to play with them for an entire day (well, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. anyway).  


And I want to send a special "Thanx"out to the nice DPS officer who let me out of a ticket while I was out on my dinner break.  A speeding ticket would have been a little bit of a dampener on such an AWESOME day!!! ;)

it was a great day and so glad I forgot my markers and had to come back to visit some more... LOL... forgot my markers...... can you believe it! LOL... I loved the make and takes.... especially that witch card by Kelly.... gotta love the girls at Paper Vineyard!!!! Such amazing talent.. If you have not visited that store.... You gotta run there tomorrow! Amazing! Hugs girlfriends.... girls night in california - my house coming soon.....

Hey...where's the rice crispy treats? I'd take a pic...but Michaela ate both of them as soon as we got to the car! LOL! GREAT creations for SURE. Good to see you and the other ladies. We still need to plan coffee :)

Burton-weenie Release Day 2

It's A Great Day For A White Wedding

It has been sooooo long since I've designed with the wonderful ladies of Paper Vineyard's design team!  Getting back on the designing wagon has suddenly come so easy to me over the past couple of days or so... I've been designing up a storm.  Part of the reason for the sudden burst of creativity came from this little gem pictured below!  Just a little warning here... this post is VERY pic heavy!!!  Yep!  It's the DCWV Immortal Love stack I told you all about the other day (inspired by the Twilight Saga movies).  So with Breaking Dawn coming out later this year, the Wedding theme for today's challenge over at Paper Vineyard was SUPER easy.  I can clearly imagine what wedding goodies Edward and Bella would put together, what their wedding colors would be, etc.  Well, now you can see how this one just sort of made itself!  hahahahahahha! Burton-weenies Sneak Peak Day 3!

Ok, so along with the sneak peek of the new releases (coming this Friday... I can't wait!), TODAY the Dolls are having a little challenge with Ellanor:  PUT ME IN A BURTON MOVIE!!!  Well, hopefully you can tell that I turned the new Ellanor stamp, from the upcoming Burton-weenies line, into Lydia from Beetle Juice (click on pic to enlarge)!!!  But I couldn't just stop there!!!  Our guest DT's played a little with Ellanor, so I had to have my fun too!  Check it out!
