BACK To Halloween.... WHEW!

Okay... BACK to Halloween gifting this week!  We're makin more goody boxes using The Cutest Halloween Bundle again this week, we are also featuring the tags and labels dies from the July - December 2021 Mini Catalog (lovingly dubbed "the holiday mini").  I've got to admit, this bundle really is the cutest and I'm having SOOOO much fun playing with it simply because of how easy it is to work with.  The fact that the punch ALSO punches out the images from the DSP makes this one a super-huge winner for me.  I mean.... three goody projects in under an hour!?!  That's right!  This week's Freebie Friday On A Monday was actually recorded in under 40 minutes!  SO DOABLE to get ready for Halloween gifting!  As always, the link to the free PDF with supplies used and measurements is below the last pic and if you place a $35 or more from my online store (click "Shop With Me" in the banner at the top of this blog) using this week's Host/Hostess code GHRGHEEW by 10/18/21 at 11:59 p.m., will receive all three of these make n' take project kits FOR FREE!!!  The instructional video is at the very bottom of this post!

Let's dive in with the SUPER CUTE mini treat box that also holds one of those mini sanitizers from Bath and Body Works to perfection... note that it doesn't go into this box flat.  It fits perfectly if you place it in so the sides of the sanitizer go into the box from corner to corner.

So I can say that for ALL of this week's projects, you can really put a dent in using up the scraps!  This one is probably the only project that MAY require cutting a full sheet, but I think if you dig a little... I'm almost positive that you could scrounge a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" scrap of basic black!  LOL!

Okay.... could this one be any easier?!?  The new Seasonal Labels dies make this caramel apple presentation a snap!  You will need a stapler for this one....

I mentioned in today's video that this one would be PERFECT filled with some Halloween candy and stood up on a place setting at a dinner party.  Can you see how perfect this treat box is with someone's name added to it?  So great!

Okay you guys.... that does it for today!  It's good to be back to Halloween!  I know... even I'm a little shell-shocked from the Christmas departure in October, but it had to be done!  We're back to Halloween goodness so the Earth is back on its axis and all is back to normal!  So use up those scraps and spread some Halloween Cheer!

Past 7 Days....

A Good Comparison

Ok you guys... its time for the truth.  I'm gonna bare my soul here!  I was TERRIFIED that I would not be able to color once I got the new Spectrum Noir markers.  For years I've been told how well I color using the Copic brush nib alcohol ink markers and for years I've believed it was because of the tool.  NOW I plunge into the REAL world of coloring.... new markers and different nibs.  Can I do it?  Will the new tool measure up? Okie dokie, see for yourself!!!  Above is a hair and face chart that I practiced on yesterday (thank you for the heads Lori Barnett ).  I started the first head in the top left corner using my Copic brush nib markers.  Then I completed the rest of the heads using Spectrum Noir markers in various color combinations to see if there was a noticeable difference.  Oh, these are pretty darn close, wouldn't you say????  This practice sheet is literally the third time I've colored with these markers (I'll post my second project tomorrow).

For Donna

Ok... so it has been A LONG time since I first posted my amazing and wonderful Scrap Closet Conversion .  A lot has changed as well.  Since I first converted a tiny closet into a craft space, my family has moved and I NOW have an entire room devoted to this wonderful hobby.  Furniture has been added and I've been able to expand quite a bit (check out my new craft table... thanx Cindy).  Sometimes that serves me, sometimes it doesn't.  I find that I need to be WAY MORE DILIGENT to keep my spaces clean and organized, more than I ever did in my beloved craft closet.  Unfortunately, when you spread out, so does the mess!!!  But I'm doing well with it and still employ a lot of the storage solutions I discovered way back when. Recently, my new friend from Idaho, Donna ,  asked me about MY storage solution ideas, so I thought I would share my favorites!!!  I'll start with the one that I'm personally challenged the most with... let's check out ribbon. I REALLY hat

Skin Chart

One of my all time favorite things to color is people.  I love the color variations in skin and hair and then add to that the depth of light and shadow.... I LOVE IT!!!  So it was no surprise that people were the first images I colored when I first received my new Spectrum Noir Markers (Click HERE for my first project post).  Since then I've done a couple of hair and skin charts, but I thought it would be nice to do just a BASIC skin chart to feature on Spectrum Noir's blog today.  So here it is, I get to share it with all of you!!! Please don't judge me on my coloring skills for this... I typically ALWAYS color the skin first so that when I color outside the lines, the hair/clothing/etc. will hide the fact that I can't stay in the lines.  hahahahahahahaha!  The top row is light skin and the bottom row is medium to dark skin.  Hope this gets everyone's wheels turnin!!!  More INCREDIBLE color charts are soon to be available on the Spectrum Noir website.... stay
