And now for MY project.... BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY BLOG CANDY AT THE END!!!

Here's my Twilighty keepsake box!!!  I had an absolute BLAST making this box and will be using it to hold all my pictures from Forks and La Push as well as pics from the various premiere parties I've attended/hosted over the years.

This originally started out as a faux book box.  I painted the spine black using acrylic paint and covered the rest using paper from the DCWV Immortal Love Stack.

Inside is a Tim Holtz Mini Binder Clip that is holding various pockets and pages I created to hold all my Twilight memories.  The knob on the front I got from The Home Depot.

The title plate is one of Tim Holtz's Ornate Plates.  I used various ribbons to highlight the edge of the checkered paper and even used some of the bright red ribbon to create the ribbon rose to pair up with the Bazzil paper roses.  Glossy Accents is actually still drying in this pic sealing the title in it's place.

Finally, here's a pic of the side.  For the edges of the book I simply painted a couple of Tim Holtz Elements Grunge pieces covering them with black acrylic paint and securing them with black brads.  The legs on the box are just round wood knobs that I also painted black.

Ok gang, that's it for my Twilight:  Breaking Dawn Blog Hop project!!!  You're off to see Sugar's "fang-tastic" project!!!  Me, I'm sitting in the theater RIGHT NOW watching a 15 hour Twilight marathon!!!  I cannot wait to see Breaking Dawn pt.2!

Past 7 Days....

Good Eggs

Well.... yesterday was THE BEST DAY EVER!!!  Not only did I score AMAZING card kits from Dove Art Studio's class yesterday, but I also got to hang out with some of my favorite people!!!  Now, truth be told, I spent just about the entire day (off and on) coloring the images you see pictured.   I don't typically spend that kind of time coloring three cards, but I was working on coloring the standard "Copic" method of coloring and it was HARD for me to change up my order of application, pressure, etc.  It was almost like I was a beginner all over again!!!  I really got a taste of what my coloring students go through.  So....here are three things to keep in mind when you sit down to color with alcohol ink markers: 1.  Know YOUR mechanics and the mechanics of the pens.  Alcohol ink is like no other medium I can think of.  The blendability of this ink is AWESOME but if you try too hard, you will not get the best these markers ha...

Out Of Pocket

So sorry to be MIA folks!!!! My niece gave birth this past Christmas (yes, a Christmas baby!) and 14 days later she collapsed unconscious. She was rushed to emergency and a blood clot was discovered. How can that be?!? She's only 18 years old!!! Needless to say, I'm totally in shock that this has happened. But because of this I will be out of pocket for a short while as I am spending as much time as I can with her and my family. PLEASE, for those who are prayerful, PLEASE pray for her speedy and complete recovery. Thank you... you all are always so wonderful!!!

The BEST Copic Storage

**** HUGE HALLOWEEN GIVE AWAY... CLICK HERE !!!!**** Ok, so I've done posts in the past about various Copic storage solutions, but I was given THE MOTHER of all storage ideas by my friends Jennie Black and Krista Koenig!!!   Let me share with you the construction of the storage box and then I'll finish this off with the BRILLIANT solution my husband came up with.... cuz I married a GENIUS!!! What you'll need to create the AWESOME storage box pictured here is: 1 Double Deep Art Bin 1 plastic grid for ceiling lighting (found at your local home improvement store) 1 half inch thick wooden square dowel (also found at your local home improvement store) Dimensional adhesive squares Wire cutters or sheers Screws with corresponding drill bit Drill So I first cut the ceiling grid down to 19 squares by 19 squares using my wire cutters.   You will need two 19 x 19 sections of grid material.   The wire cutters went through the plastic material of the grid like b...
